A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers
Welcome Everyone! My name is Vincent DePasquale and thank you for visiting and listening to my podcast called A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers. I’m a sports fan for over 40 years and I’ll be offering my unique insights and analysis on my favorite sports - particularly football, baseball and basketball. My take goes beyond the typical news, numbers and statistics and is literally “a different take” on what you’ll regularly see on other shows and platforms out there. Lots of shows focus on the numbers and data-driven analysis. My take goes beyond that - it’s a confluence of not only interpreting numbers and results, but digesting them to make them understandable and usable in the context of being a sports fan! Combined with breaking down and understanding perpetually-breaking sports news, my podcast represents a truly unique perspective on sports - literally A Different Take! I hope you will enjoy my podcast, like, and listen frequently!
A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers
Is Juan Soto a “Generational” Player?
Since he burst onto the baseball scene in 2018, Juan Soto has seemed poised for greatness, and has the trajectory to be on his way to a Hall of Fame career. But is he a “generational” player? All I have heard from talk show hosts, podcasters, and all kinds of baseball pundits, analysts and media types since he signed with the Mets for the 2025 season, with the richest contract in MLB history, is that he is such a player. But I’ve heard the word “generational” so much over the last four months that I’ve gotten tired of it! And I decided to delve deeper and do my own analysis to determine if I believe he is indeed a “generational” player. What did I discover and determine? The numbers are really interesting and might surprise you! Tune in to hear the analysis - only on A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers!
