A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers
Welcome Everyone! My name is Vincent DePasquale and thank you for visiting and listening to my podcast called A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers. I’m a sports fan for over 40 years and I’ll be offering my unique insights and analysis on my favorite sports - particularly football, baseball and basketball. My take goes beyond the typical news, numbers and statistics and is literally “a different take” on what you’ll regularly see on other shows and platforms out there. Lots of shows focus on the numbers and data-driven analysis. My take goes beyond that - it’s a confluence of not only interpreting numbers and results, but digesting them to make them understandable and usable in the context of being a sports fan! Combined with breaking down and understanding perpetually-breaking sports news, my podcast represents a truly unique perspective on sports - literally A Different Take! I hope you will enjoy my podcast, like, and listen frequently!
A Different Take - Sports Beyond The Numbers
NFL Week 7 Takeaways & Statements and Week 8 Preview PLUS Key Injury Analysis of the dreaded Hamstring Injury!
Week 7 of the NFL season is in the books, and Week 8 began with the LA Chargers blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings on TNF. The midpoint of the NFL season is fast approaching, and so is the Trade Deadline. I examine the Key Takeaways from the Week 7 games, identify possible trade targets before the trade deadline, and dive into some of the more intriguing Week 8 matchups. PLUS I examine one of the most common football injuries: the dreaded hamstring injury. It’s currently happened to star quarterbacks Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders, as well as wide receivers Emeka Egbuka of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles. The hamstring is actually not one muscle but a group of muscles, and is essential for optimal athletic performance. Hamstring injuries can affect any football player at any time. How and why do they happen? Why are they so problematic? And what can be done in training and physical therapy to repair and prevent them? I analyze these intricacies and more in this intriguing episode!
